THE HARTT SCHOOL
Development Fund

The Hartt School relies on generous contributions from its alumni, parents, friends, foundations, and corporations to support its dynamic mission of providing the highest level of professional training in the performing arts and related professions. There are a variety of ways to support Hartt's broad range of educational and performance activities and your gift will help maintain The Hartt School as a center of artistic distinction.

Annual Fund

The Hartt School’s Annual Fund program supports and maintains those resources at the core of the Hartt experience: its talented students, distinguished faculty, and important facilities. Gifts to The Hartt School’s Annual Fund help bridge the gap between tuition revenue and operating expenses, and helps Hartt provide outstanding training for students of all ages.

If you have questions about annual giving or would like to make a gift, please contact Steve Auger at 860-768-2408 or by email. You can also make a gift online.

Planned Giving

The Hartt School is grateful to its many alumni and friends who have chosen to support its programs through planned or deferred gifts, such as bequests, trusts, and gift annuities. Including a charitable provision for Hartt in your estate can ensure the future financial well-being of both your heirs and the University. With consultation from the appropriate professional advisors, a planned gift can produce significant tax savings for your estate, lifetime income payments for you and your heirs, and a lasting legacy of your generosity here at Hartt.

For more information about planned giving, please contact Peter Congleton at 860-768-2415 or by email. For more information, explore the University of Hartford’s http://www.hartford.edu/giving/plannedgiving/.

Other Giving Opportunities

Many of Hartt’s friends and alumni have established named funds, either endowed or temporary funds, to support of a wide variety of programs and initiatives. Funding priorities have included student scholarships, library acquisitions, capital improvements, and instrument purchases. Scholarship funds have been of particular interest, allowing Hartt to award nearly $200,000 in named scholarships to its students every year.

The String Quartet Society is an important group of music lovers who support the residency of the Miami String Quartet at The Hartt School. In addition to helping promote world-class chamber music, members of The String Quartet Society enjoy wonderful benefits associated with their membership.

If you are interested in making a gift to one of Hartt’s named scholarships or other restricted funds, or would like to discuss establishing a new fund, please contact the Dean's Office at (860) 768-4468.
