The Theatre Division also schedules seminars and workshops with leading members of the entertainment industry to provide graduating students with insight into the factors that contribute to a successful, rewarding career. Master classes, given by casting directors, provide information for students on how to create a resume and techniques for a successful audition.
The Hartt School/Hartford Stage Partnership in Training

Students have the opportunity to participate in activities with Hartford Stage which may include roles or understudying in their productions. A variety of master classes and workshops are also a feature of this important collaboration.
The Hartt School/Goodspeed Musicals Residency

While Hartt Theatre Division students have participated in Goodspeed productions almost from the inception of the program, the 2005-2006 academic year marked the official launching of this cooperative venture. Senior music theatre students will be in residence at Goodspeed Musicals and participate in the development of new works with established music theatre writing teams.
Working with Playwrights - The Theatre Division strongly emphasizes the development of new plays and musicals. Each spring, the New Plays Festival is held, giving students the chance to work on several new works. Students work with the playwright, helping to give shape to the new work. elanie Marnich.
