For students who would like to pursue careers as dance educators, the Dance Division offers a degree with a concentration in teaching. This major includes a greater emphasis on pedagogy, covering different styles and schools of ballet, from the earliest pre-ballet to coaching the advanced dancer.
Our methodical approach to dance teaching is unique in Bachelor of Fine Arts programs, incorporating classroom teaching and assisting both in the Hartt Community Division dance department and in area public schools.
 Just as the performance degree includes training in pedagogy, students in the dance teaching program participate fully in the many performing opportunities available, while also pursuing a full schedule of daily technique classes. The depth of training and experience provided by the program makes graduates highly qualified candidates for a variety of teaching careers. |
