— Vocal Emphasis. Applicants will complete an instrumental and vocal audition. The Music Education major is not
available to jazz applicants.

Part IV — Resume
A performance resume is required for all B.M. in Performance (vocal or instrumental),
B.S.E. in Acoustics, Hartt Diploma, or BFA Applications. You may attach your resume or
use the space provided to type or cut-and-paste your resume from another word
processing document.
Repertoire List
All applicants applying for a B.M. in Performance, B.S.E in Acoustics, or Hartt Diploma
program are required to submit a list of the pieces they have performed. You may attach
your repertoire list or use the space provided to type or cut-and-paste your list from
another word processing document.
Part V — Essay
ALL APPLICANTS MUST COMPLETE AN ESSAY REQUIREMENT. YOUR ESSAY SHOULD BE
NO MORE THAN TWO TYPEWRITTEN PAGES.
Describe your short-and-long-tern career plans. Include:
A. What life experience(s) caused you to want to pursue the arts?
B. How do you percieve The Hartt School will prepare you for your professional career?
You may attach your essay here or cut-and-paste it from an existing word processing document.
You may also mail it in seperately with the confirmation page generated after you submit your online
application.
You may now submit your application by clicking the submit button below. You will
receive a confirmation page which you should print out. Make a copy of that page and
submit it with any supporting documentation not included in this application. i.e. letters of
recommendation, performance resume, repertoire list, photograph or headshot for voice
and theatre respectively. Please make sure you have finished a University of Hartford
application. Also be sure to read the Audition Information page for your specific
instrument's requirements.
Your Hartt Supplemental Application will not be processed unless you submit
the University of Hartford application.
