Why I Chose Hartt?
The Hartt School felt like the perfect fit for me. Everyone that I met in the beginning was very kind, and made me feel comfortable. The overall atmosphere of Hartt and its people welcomed me. The Hartt School has many excellent programs and activities to become involved in, which is another reason I chose this school. I liked that Hartt was located in an area that allowed me to utilize three cities (Boston, New York City and Hartford) for networking because many of our teachers are out working in the profession and teaching us at night. Our professors know many individuals who can help you along the way. After being accepted and actually taking classes is when I truly learned why I love Hartt. I originally went with my gut instinct on what fit my priorities the best and what felt most comfortable, which fortunately worked in my favor.
More about Molly
My name is Molly Smith. I am a junior who will receive the Bachelor of Arts in the Performing Arts Management with a concentration in pre-law studies. Throughout the years I have spent at Hartt, I have become more involved in the University of Hartford as well as The Hartt School community. I am part of the Red Key Society as tour guide for the University. I also am the treasurer of MEISA (Music Entertainment Industry Student Association) and last year I attended the MEISA Conference in Boston. I also interned at Hartt, helping the Music Education department develop their Summerterm program for graduate students in the summer of 2009. I have enjoyed the many opportunities Hartt has provided me and recommend any person who is passionate about their art and skill to see if Hartt is the right fit for you.
