Why I chose The Hartt School Community Division

When I was really little, I loved music and dancing. When I asked for dance lessons, my mom wanted me to learn ballet because it is the foundation of all kinds of dance. I started dancing at the Hartt Community Division when I was four years old. I still love dancing here. My ballet teacher, Ms. Giovanna, is fun, kind and strict (in a good way). I have made great friends from all over the Hartford area who enjoy dance as much as I do.

I've also made friends through the Connecticut Children's Chorus. This is my third year in CCC. Choir is challenging, because the directors expect everyone to do their best at every rehearsal, but it is also really exciting to hear how we sound together.

This year, I also started taking piano lessons at Hartt with Ms. Simanovich. She is a wonderful teacher and my parents can't believe how much my playing has improved in just a few months.

Hartt is a great place to learn about music and dance!
