Why We Chose The Hartt Community Division
My children started Suzuki piano outside of Hartt. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to switch teachers about five years ago. At that point, I chose Hartt Community Division mainly because I had observed from previous Suzuki Summer Institutes the high quality of the Hartt students and faculty. I was also impressed with the facility that's very conducive to effective music training. My children were placed with Malgosia Lis and under her loving and nurturing tutelage, they have all blossomed musically, academically, and in other areas of personal development. Besides learning how to play the piano beautifully, they have learned the causal effect of persistency, patience, concentration, self-discipline, and hard work. The Hartt Community Division has also allowed my daughter the opportunity to branch into violin as her second instrument, also through the Suzuki Method. She has received high-quality violin instructions as well. We all feel fortunate to be a part of this vibrant community.

Kirsten and Max have been studying Suzuki piano at the Hartt Community Division for over five years with Malgosia Lis. Kirsten was selected as a piano honors student and Max won an award at the Select Student Competition. They credit their teacher for their musical achievements. They particularly enjoy coming to the annual Suzuki Summer Institute and taking lessons with excellent master teachers.
