Closings

When the University of Hartford or any satellite of the Community Division is closed due to holidays or inclement weather, lessons and activities at that site are also canceled.

Additionally, the Community Division may choose to cancel its activities for the day regardless of whether the university is closed.

Cancellation information will be announced on the Community Division home page, via email (if you are signed up for our newsletter), WTIC radio (AM1080), WFSB-TV Channel 3, News Channel 8, and NBC News Channel 30. Please note that the exact TV channel may be different for individuals depending on their cable provider. The stations listed above will also list closings on their websites.

Announcements will be posted by 12:00 pm on weekdays, 6:30 am on Saturdays and Sundays for morning activities and by 12:00 pm for afternoon and evening activities. Additional notices will go out for special events as needed.

Rescheduling of Activities

When the Community Division is officially closed, private lesson teachers will make up lessons. Families should reserve their regularly scheduled time during the make-up week unless otherwise arranged. Ensembles, classes, and other group activities are not made up, although faculty members may reschedule rehearsals at their discretion.
