The award-winning Connecticut Children’s Chorus (CCC) is the region’s most comprehensive auditioned youth choral program, training Connecticut’s most talented young voices. Founded in 1991 within The Hartt School Community Division, CCC has grown from one 60-voice choir to six choirs encompassing over 200 students (grades 1 through 12) from 46 Connecticut communities. The organization, under the artistic direction of Dr. Stuart Younse, is lead by the state’s leading choral music educators; including Dr. Vanessa Bond, Lillie Feierabend, Meredith Neumann, and Cheryl Tierney. Connecticut Children’s Chorus is the offcial children’s chorus of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, performing regularly at The Bushnell Performing Arts Center. CCC has been featured at ACDA Eastern Division and CMEA conferences, and has performed on the Today Show. Additionally, CCC has performed with The Hartt School’s Hartt Symphony Orchestra and University Choirs; in collaborative performances that recently include Britten’s War Requiem and Mahler’s Symphony No.2 under the direction of Maestro Christopher Zimmerman and Dr. Edward Bolkovac. CCC has toured extensively in Europe, including a recent trip to Ireland. In addition to regularly scheduled performances, CCC frequently collaborates with regional ensembles and strives to have a lasting presence in the greater community. In May 2013, five of the six choirs performed as part of the Heritage Music Festival in New York City, winning multiple awards.

Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 5:30 until 7:00 pm at the University of Hartford Magnet School, unless otherwise specified (below).

Performance Tours

Every other summer, members of Concert, Connecticut Men’s, and Primi Voci choirs are welcome to join their conductors on an international performance tour.  Tours are open to choir members and their families at an additional cost (not included in annual tuition).  Past tours include travel to France, Austria, Italy, and Ireland.
