Auditions

David Einfeldt Chamber Music Seminar

We highly encourage submission of DVD audition. Auditions will also be accepted electronically via YouTube or Vimeo link. Live audition opportunities are also available.

DVDs will be accepted from students who have attended in the past, beginning January 1, 2013. Students who would like to return in 2013, and who submit their DVD at the beginning of January, will receive advance consideration, and notification will be made by February 28.

DVDs from all other students will be viewed beginning February 1, 2013.

General admissions will be made on a rolling basis beginning January 31, 2013.

  • Students will be informed of their acceptance into the program within two weeks of their on-site audition, or receipt of their DVD audition.
  • Students’ private teachers will be asked to complete a recommendation form to assist us in creating quartets that will work well together. For more information go to the Apply Page.
  • Enrollment agreements, indicating a commitment to attend, need to be returned within two weeks of acceptance.
  • Acceptances will be based on students' level of preparation, musical maturity, age, and our needs in creating a maximum of eight string quartets.
  • Quartet assignments will be finalized after the April 15 payment deadline. Music will be sent to students for their primary piece in early May, after final payments have been received, so that there is time for each participant to work on the piece with their home teacher prior to the end of the school year.
