Biography: In 1994, Denise Leetch-Moore moved to Connecticut to join the Hartford Ballet under the direction of Kirk Peterson. As principal dancer with the company, her repertoire included full length classics as well as a wide range of works by George Balanchine and Choo-San Goh to name a few. Her favorites include Myrtha in Giselle, Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker, Choleric and Sanguinic in The Four Temperaments, Principal Tall Girl in Rubies, and Principal Couple in the 3rd movement of In The Glow of The Night. Prior to joining the Hartford Ballet, Denise was a member of the Nashville Ballet, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Pennsylvania Ballet, Chautauqua Festival Company, and Septine Webre Dance.
In 2007, Denise joined the faculty of the Hartt School -the University of Hartford- in both the Theatre division as well as the Dance division. She teaches ballet and jazz, as well as movement classes for the Acting theatre students. Denise has been the choreographer for a number of the musicals and plays- including The Hostage, Learned Ladies of Park Avenue, Into the Woods and The Glorious Ones. She was also the assistant for On the Town, Carousel, and Tommy.
In the winter of 2010, Denise joined the faculty of the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neil Theater, were she taught dance and choreography to actors. In May of 2011, Denise had the honor of choreographing Slaughter on 10th Avenue for Maestro Edward Cumming's final season with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra for the POPS evening.
