Hartt Wind Ensemble
The Hartt Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band perform a wide range of repertoire written for winds and percussion from small chamber ensembles to full symphonic band. Recent guest composers include Michael Daugherty, Joseph Schwantner, Joan Tower, Nebojsa Zivkovic, Joseph Turrin, Steve Gryc, David Macbride, Robert Carl, and Ken Steen. Guest soloists include Joseph Alessi and Scott Hartman, trombone; Carrie Koffman, saxophone; Robert Black, double bass; Cherie Caluda, voice; Ben Toth, percussion; Roger Murtha, trumpet; and Marc Goldberg, bassoon. Guest conductors include Frank Battisti and H. Robert Reynolds. Recent convention appearances include the National College Band Director's National Association regional and national conventions and the Connecticut Music Educator's National Conference state convention. In 2008 Hartt's Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band will release Passaggi on the Naxos label.
