Hartt faculty member Steve Davis and his former student James Burton III (Hartt class of 2002) played in the trombone section and were featured as soloists on Christian McBride Big Band's "The Good Feeling," which just received a Grammy nomination for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album. Both Davis and Burton also played on master bassist Ron Carter's new Big Band CD (along with fellow Hartt alumnus Wayne Escoffery '96). Both CDs were reviewed in the recent Downbeat Magazine.
