Bachelor of Music
The Hartt School's Bachelor of Music (BM) degree programs are designed to foster maximum potential for the student of superior talent and motivation in a conservatory setting. Hartt's curricula prepares students for the next step in the various fields of the performing arts be it advanced graduate pursuits or a budding career. Coursework includes private lessons and mentorship with a member of Hartt's acclaimed faculty, ensemble participation, core music classes (music theory, music history, ear training, and keyboard proficiency), courses specific to a particular major, coupled with general academic studies at the University of Hartford. This standard four-year program consists of an approximate 80-20% split in specific classes: 80% within the major and 20% outside the major in general academic classes.
